FARM THEMED PARTY GAMES
If your having a farm themed party, or just looking for a fun game for the kids or adults in your group to play, try some of our favorites...
Who Am I?
What you need:
index cards
tape
magic marker.
Prior to play, make a list of farm animals (goose, duck, sheep, goat, donkey, cow, etc)
Write one animal on each index card, making one pair of each animal ( two cards that say cow, two that say sheep, etc)
If you have young players who can not yet read, draw a picture of the animal on the card along with the written name
How to play:
shuffle the animal cards and place them face down in a stack.  Have players (adults can play too) line up.  Take the top card, DO NOT SHOW IT TO THE PLAYER and tape the card to the players back, so that other players can read it.  OTHER PLAYERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TELL THE PLAYER WHAT ANIMAL IS ON THEIR BACK.
Once each player has an animal card taped to their back, they then begin milling about asking other players questions about the animal that is on their back.  They may only ask a player one question at a time. They must be yes or no questions.
Example:
"Do I have four legs?"
The other player then looks at the asking players back and answers "Yes" or "No"
First player to figure out what animal they have on their back wins.
Are You My Mommy?
What you need:
Index cards
markers
Similar to WHO AM I?
Make a list of animals...and a list of animal babies.  Their can be multipal babies of each animal, depending on the size of your group.
Players draw cards and look at them to see what animal they are and if they are a parent or a baby animal.
Without telling other players what animal they are, they begin making their animals sound.  Parent animals "call" to find their babies.  Baby animals call to find their mommys....
The first parent and baby animals to find each other win!
Gathering Eggs
First, decide how may "hens" you need.  You want about one "hen" to every 5 "egg gathers"
What you need:
one handkerchief for each "hen"
Choose a 1 to 4 players to be "hens". (Again, we suggest one hen to every five egg gathers")  The rest of the players will be "egg gathers".
Give each "hen" an "egg" (handkerchief)
The "hen" places her "egg" on the ground, then kneels over it.  This is her "nest".  The hens goal is to protect her egg by "pecking" (tagging) any egg gather who gets close to her nest.
The "egg gathers" goal is to collect all the hens eggs without getting "pecked".
If an "egg gather" gets pecked they have to "go to the house for a band aid" (sit down in an assigned spot )
The game ends when:
all eggs have been gathered
OR
all egg gathers have been "pecked"
Hens CAN NOT "sit tight" on their nests (player can not sit down on the handkerchief.) They can kneel over it, or go on hands and knees.
Egg gathers CAN work together to distract the hens while another gather grabs the egg.
